I wouldn't be where I am professionally without these mentors and advisers, so this is a simple thank you.

Dear Tami,

I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to spread my wings, when there was no reason for you to know that I was capable. Thank you for taking a chance on me. For:

  • Teaching us that a team is far more valuable than the sum of it's parts.

  • Showing us that psychological safety can bring out innovation and professional excellence

  • Being available, even though you were being pulled in  a thousand different directions.

  • Making time for fun, because we were working hard.

  • Building trust, because the means were just as important as the goals.

  • Smiling, when frowning would have been much easier.

  • Going high even though others were going low.

  • Being funny, to break up the seriousness.

Every time I think about you, I ask myself "why didn't I spend more time with her?!" Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

More about Tami.

Dear Mr. Mastrian,

You showed me that today is far more valuable that tomorrow can ever be, because you own today, and tomorrow is a whole day away. You proved to me that a network one of the most valuable assets, but it's only valuable if you nurture it and tap into it wisely. You made stronger by teaching me that being tired is a word for those who don't know themselves well enough.
